Rafting with children in Brotas: from what age?
Traveling to Brotas with kids and missing out on rafting? No need. There are options for every age, completely safe. See which tour to choose for your family.
From what age can children go rafting?
- Mini Rafting: from 3 years.
- Rafting Brotas: requires a minimum height of 1.10 m.
On both, the maximum weight per person is 120 kg and you don't need to know how to swim.

Mini Rafting: ideal for little ones
O Mini Rafting takes place on a calmer stretch of the Jacaré Pepira River, with no drops: 4 km with seven gentle rapids and swimming stops. We use the same equipment as traditional rafting: boat, life jacket, helmet and paddle.
The tour takes 1 h 30 min to 2 h, with departures at 10 am or 3 pm. It is also perfect for grandparents and for those who want to bring their dog: in that case, see Pet Rafting.
Rafting Brotas: for older children
If your child is already 1.10 m or taller and loves excitement, Rafting in Brotas has about 8 km, 32 rapids and 14 drops. It is 1 h 30 min to 2 h on the river, with experienced guides and a safety kayaker following the descent.

How we take care of children
- Life jacket and helmet in the right size for each child;
- A safety talk before getting into the boat, in language little ones understand;
- A guide in the boat the whole time, directing the paddling;
- Safety Management System implemented in accordance with ABNT NBR ISO 21101. Learn more about rafting safety.
